Hello, world!  Welcome to Dessert by Deb!  I am the "Deb" behind Dessert by Deb and some of you might know me as my other moniker, The Sugared Teacup, but for those who are just meeting me for the first time, I want to give you a giant hug for visiting my website and shop!

Dessert by Deb is my company and lifestyle brand devoted to all things tea and sweets.  You will find all sorts of fun products as the company grows, but I thought I'd start things off with some of my favourite things in the world: dessert loose leaf teas, stationery, and adorable kitchen and tea accessories! 

The photo of me that you see here is of me in the Paperchase flagship store in London, England back in 2018 when I had the opportunity of a lifetime to attend a tea tour hosted by Harney & Sons!  Not only was it my first time in the UK, it was my first trip overseas!  Going to London had been a dream of mine for as long as I could remember and I fully took advantage of every tea moment I could.  It was a dream come true and the travel bug has bitten me hard!

So, who am I?  I'm a 30-something tea-loving lady based in Toronto, Canada, and my favourite things include afternoon tea, books, magazines, baking, photography, stationery, flowers and gardens, being out in the city, and going out for brunch and sushi! 

This adventure and journey of mine has been years in the making.  I began food blogging back in 2010 while I was attending grad school (before Instagram was an everyday thing, gasp!) and over the years my life and career took many twists and turns; some good, some not-so-good.  But the hobby took on a life of its own and soon, tea became my sole focus.  I started a new tea blog in 2016, The Sugared Teacup, which transformed into my first foray into entrepreneurship: The Sugared Teacup became a tea gift box and mail order subscription business!

After nearly 2 years and a lot of soul searching, I put that business to bed to pursue a different dream and to embark on a new adventure.  And now here we are and I am so happy and excited to share this with the world.  Thank you so much for visiting my "tea society" and I hope Dessert by Deb's products will bring joy and happiness to your lives!
